Amanpuri, which means "place of peace" in Sanskrit, is built on a coastal hillside on Phuket. The island is connected to Thailand's Phang-Nga province by bridge and is surrounded by the Andaman Sea which joins the Indian Ocean to the south. On Phuket's west central coast is Pansea Beach from where a stairway leads up to the resort's main pool and facilities.

The Amanpuri resort's guest accommodation of 40 pavilions are interspersed within a coconut plantation connected by elevated walkways and colonnades.

Garden pavilion
The resort's pavilions are 115 sq. m comprising of a 50 sq. m bedroom and 65 sq. m dining pavilion with sundeck. Pavilion rates are determined according to view and location. Pavilion 105 and 103 are located with the best ocean views. 3 Deluxe Ocean Pavilions also have beautiful ocean view, while 4 Superior Partial Ocean Pavilions are set further back from the shore with partial ocean views. 25 superior garden pavilions are interspersed throughout the resorts coconut palm plantation, whilst the 6 Garden Pavilions are located nearest to the internal passage of the resort. NOTE: As a general policy, no extra bed is offered as the pavilions are designed to accommodate two adults. Beds and baby cots for children are available.
